About Us:
On August 1, 2006 The Glass Thimble Quilt Shop was sold by Bev and Gary Young to Jamie and Justine McKenna who plan to continue the tradition of years of service to quilters and to put their own stamp on the programs and services of The Glass Thimble. In 1979, Bev and Gary Young had a dream to create a shop that reflected two of their major interests--quilting and stained glass; hence the name they selected for the shop, The Glass Thimble, which became the embodiment of that original dream. We now sell fabrics via our website all over the world and the web business is a fast-growing component for us. Click the red banner to go to our online store 
Today, The Glass Thimble is a full-service retail store for quilting.
At The Glass Thimble, all facets of quilting are enjoyed and taught, including hand-piecing, hand applique, quick methods for cutting fabrics and fast construction techniques by machine. We are fascinated by and teach all styles of quilting from antique reproduction quilts to ultra-contemporary designs. Our fabrics and supplies reflect this same eclectic approach and diversity. We have over 7000 fabrics, offering an abundant selection, regardless of your favorite quilting style.

Situated in the heart of Columbus, Ohio, The Glass Thimble is readily accessible from any part of the city.
-- From downtown or the Convention Center area, we are a 10 minute ride by car via I-71, North High Street, or SR 315 or a short 10 minute bus ride up North High St.
-- We are halfway between I-71 and SR 315 freeways about 2 miles north of OSU directly on North High St., the main north-south street in Columbus. We are just north of the Starbucks that sets on the corner of North Broadway and High Street, on the east side of the street. Our parking lot is in the rear, accessible from Oakland Park (next street to the north) or from E. North Broadway (turn at N. Broadway Place and then left through the church parking lot into ours.
